Jewellery expresses deep meanings, awakens strong emotions, reflects memories and life’s milestones and tells stories about its user. In my jewellery designs, experiences, emotions and thoughts take form.
I observe all the things around me, pick up simple shapes here and there which I work on in different ways. I try to build entire collections around the same theme and these collections go by the name of Dunder Design.
I work in Töölö, Helsinki looking out on a stately row of horse chestnuts in Hesperia Park. Together with my colleague Jaana Virtanen (Pioni Design), I opened a store and a workshop there in the spring of 2008, a year after my graduation from the Department of Jewellery and Silver Design at the Lahti Institute of Design.
