The designs of my jewellery are rich and decorative, in contrast to the modern Scandinavian design. My aesthetic world of ideas is visible in my jewellery. I love ornamental and vine-like designs, colours created by enamel and glass, and combining different kinds of stones and pearls.
The beauty of nature and a good mood are enough to inspire me but also all the things around us in our everyday life give me ideas. An idea for a piece of jewellery often builds around a person or a personage that I imagine or a story, a setting or a state of mind.
I always hope that my vision and the thoughts of the person using my jewellery would converge and in this way, the jewellery would give joy to its user for a long time, would complement their lifestyle and would give the jewel its own story, its own pleasant memories and its unique sentimental value.
I started my own company upon graduation from the Lahti Institute of Design, Finland in 1997. I worked as an entrepreneur for almost ten years in an atelier workshop called Union Design and during this period, I was working on designing my own collection of jewellery. At present, I work as an independent jewellery designer designing and manufacturing my own collections as well as custom-made jewellery.
In 2009, one of my biggest dreams came true when I started working as one of the designers for the Lumoava brand jewellery. The best things about working with Lumoava are designing your own jewellery as well as getting a chance to observe the work of the talented designers of various fields.
